Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) at Boston West Hospital
Eyelid surgery is a surgical procedure performed on your upper lids, lower lids or both to improve the appearance of your eyelids.
A blepharoplasty can: smooth loose or sagging skin on your upper eyelid, treat fatty deposits that cause puffiness in your eyelids, reduce bags under your eyes, address drooping lower eyelids that show white below your iris, and remove excess skin and fine wrinkles around your lower eyelid. It can also improve your vision.
Eyelid surgery is a day case procedure that takes less than two hours. It’s carried out under general anaesthetic, during which your surgeon removes muscle, fat and excess skin around your eyes to create younger looking eyes.
