Port wine stain removal at Boston West Hospital
A port wine stain is a red or purple coloured birthmark caused by the abnormal development of blood vessels in your skin. They commonly occur on your face but they can be found anywhere on your body. They can have significant psychological implications on some people especially if they are on the face.
A port wine stain can be treated with vascular lasers using a pulsed dye laser. Laser treatment aims to fade the port wine stain. You may need multiple treatments depending upon the size and depth of colour of your stain. Your consultant will discuss this with you.
